The Socketlinc Dimmer joins the linc line of INSTEON-enabled products with the first-ever dimmable product designed to fit in standard lamps. like the Lamplinc V2, the Socketlinc is simple to install and easy to set up, giving you remote control over your lamps. With a sleek and compact form factor, the Socketlinc not only works with individual light bulbs and fixtures but most standard lamps. The Socketlinc Dimmer uses INSTEON technology to provide reliable and affordable control of your home.

Friendly enough for non tech-savvy consumers, yet powerful enough for integrated home control systems, users simply screw the Socketlinc between the bulb and the lamp and the lamp not only gains dimming functionality but also becomes part of the INSTEON home control network, allowing complete individualized control of every light in the home for the ultimate in custom lighting control.

As the Socketlinc adds an extra two inches of height, smaller bulbs may be necessary for smaller lamps with less clearance. try the Sylvania Elogic Incandescent Bulbs, which are 30% smaller but last 50% longer than standard bulbs.

Full-Featured Dimmer
Upgrade your home with automated lighting, appliances, security, and more by installing an INSTEON network. Rated for up to 150W when used in an upward position, the Socketlinc Dimmer is a full-featured lamp dimmer. Lamps in your home can be remotely controlled by screwing in a Socketlinc Dimmer and can be remotely controlled with a Switchlinc V2 Dimmer, a Keypadlinc V2 Dimmer, or other INSTEON-enabled controllers.

INSTEON-enabled
The Socketlinc Dimmer is fully INSTEON-enabled. INSTEON is a powerful, home-control networking technology. INSTEON messages are transmitted throughout your home both wirelessly and through the home's existing wiring. All INSTEON messages are confirmed and repeated by INSTEON devices in the network, contributing to the outstanding reliability and performance of INSTEON-enabled products.

Easy Install and Set Up
Installation is easy, simply screw your light bulb into the Socketlinc and the Socketlinc into your lamp. Now link another INSTEON-enabled device (like a Switchlinc V2 Dimmer or a Controlinc) to your Socketlinc and you're in control. To link two INSTEON devices, simply put each into setup mode with the press of a button, and they will then connect automatically.

Scenes
With the large memory cache, there is no practical limit to the number of scenes a Socketlinc Dimmer can be a member of. The Socketlinc Dimmer can remember different light settings for different scenes. For example, create an INSTEON scene (i.e. "Movietime," "Party," "Romance," etc.) and all the Socketlincs that are part of the scene will adjust accordingly. Control individual bulbs or lamps by adding multiple Socketlinc Dimmers.

Preset br /ightness
Your Socketlinc can come on to any one of 32 br /ightness levels. For example, after watching a movie, a lamp light bulb screwed into a Socketlinc can come on to 16 percent br /ightness, so you'll easily be able to make your way out of the room without being blinded by a light at full br /ightness.

Soft Start or Resume Dimming
Socketlincs include the Soft Start feature that gradually br /ings lights up over a user-defined period of time (from an instant one-tenth of a second to over nine minutes). The soft start feature creates an eye-pleasing fade-in effect that also prolongs bulb life.

X-10 compatibility
The Socketlinc Dimmer also works with legacy X10 products. If you have an existing X10 network, the Socketlinc V2 Dimmer is a good choice. It works with your X10 products and provides an upgrade path to an INSTEON network.

Note: Socketlinc dimmer must only be used in an upright position with the bulb on top and the Socketlinc on the bottom. Socketlinc should not be used in an inverted position or installed in any fixtures that are completely enclosed.
