RCS TXB-16 X10 Bi-Directional HVAC System

  • Set temperatures between 4° & 99° F with X10 signals
  • Report temperatures between -60° & 131° F
  • Retain complete manual control from the thermostat
  • Works with standard and heatpump systems
Get complete local and remote control of virtually any thermostat function with this X10 Bi-Directional HVAC System that not only responds to X10 commands, but also has the ability to send reports via X10. When used with an intelligent home control system, you can have your system automatically respond with any action (i.e. turn on a ceiling fan, open or close dampers, etc.) when certain temperatures are reached. Yet with all its advanced, automated features, the system still offers the complete, manual control that you have with ordinary thermostats.

Responds to X10 Commands
With a simple X10 command, the system can set any temperature between 60° and 90°F, or a low temperature setting of 40°F. You can also use X10 to access other features, such as HEAT/COOL, AUTO and OFF functions. These functions allow you to do things like:
  • Adjust the house temperature in the morning from an X10 controller that you can keep on your nightstand

  • Make sure your house is the perfect temperature when you get home with any X10 timer

  • Control the temperature with a phone call with an X10 telephone transponder
See the "X10 Decode Table" to see how codes are used to control this thermostat.

Responds to Status Requests
If you have an intelligent X10 controller or home automation software that can send/receive advanced X10 codes, such as pre-set dim and request status, this system will respond to those commands. Systems that can directly control this bi-directional thermostat and understand its signals include:
  • Home Control Assistant HomeSeer HAL Deluxe Stargate/Stargate Lite TimeCommanderPlus HomeVision RCS CommStar network Controllers HAI and OnQ Systems
Depending on the controller, the X10 Bi-Directional HVAC System can provide it the current temperature. This information can be used to make decisions, run macros, or notify you that something is wrong. For example, with HAL Deluxe, you can call your home and ask it what the temperature is in the living room and then instruct it to make adjustments to the thermostat accordingly.
