Use the maintained contact unit (#4220) with toggle type switches (switches that flip one way for on and the other way for off). Use the momentary contact unit (#4221) with momentary, push button type switches (switches that you push once for on and again for off). Each dry contact transmitter handles up to 4 inputs on 4 sequential X10 addresses.
Install the dry contact transmitter in a convenient hidden location, such as the attic, and then run low voltage wiring to the 4 switches you want to use to trigger the X10 signals.
