In-linelinc Relay — The Most Advanced Remote-Controllable On/Off Module
Fill your entire home with personalized mood lighting for any occasion. The In-linelinc Relay allows you to include fluorescent or non-dimmable lights, fans, and other appliances in your INSTEON network. The In-linelinc Relay is made to run silently no matter what kind of device you connect to it. The In-linelinc Relay functions only as an on/off switch. If you need a dimmable in-line module to control incandescent bulbs, low-voltage halogen (e.g. track), and other low-voltage lights with magnetic or dimmable electronic transformers, use the In-linelinc Dimmer.
How many times have you jumped into bed and forgotten to turn the lights off? With the In-linelinc Relay's remote control ability, you can have the convenience of adding a bedside controller to turn off your lights after you get into bed. Never come home to a dark house again: Install Powerlinc V2 Controller and Timer Software on your computer to schedule any In-linelinc Relay or any other INSTEON-enabled device to turn on or off at any specific time or even at sunrise and sunset. The In-linelinc Relay can control a 400-watt incandescent load or 10-amp resistive load.
Perfect for Locations without a Switch
Whether you're planning to install Malibu lighting or ceiling fans or have already done so, you don't need to go through the hassle of running the wiring for a new wall switch. By installing an In-linelinc in a fixture box, you'll be able to control the fixture from any location in your home. Simply install the In-linelinc in the fixture box, link it manually or via Houselinc Desktop software, and you'll be able to turn fixtures on and off them using any INSTEON-enabled controller.
Easy to Program
Programming an In-linelinc can be easily done a couple of different ways. The Tap method is best for your initial setup. Simply go into linking mode on any INSTEON-enabled controller and then press the set button on the In-linelinc for 3 seconds; the load and the status LED will flash. You are now linked and can control the In-linelinc from the controller of your choice. Keep in mind that once installed in a fixture, the In-linelinc will not be easily accessible, thus making new links and scene programming difficult. We recommend using software such as Houselinc Desktop to manage the links of your In-linelinc after it is installed. Remember, you will need to have the INSTEON ID in order to program with software.
Built with a Quieter Relay
Because the In-linelinc Relay is built with a much quieter relay than most remote-control ON/OFF relays, it has a click that's more than 80 percent quieter than traditional relay switches. This allows you to control lights and other non-dimmable devices remotely without waking up the baby, annoying other family members, or sending your cat fleeing across the room. The click of the In-linelinc Relay's internal relay is barely audible.
Generates Less Heat
Unlike triac-based switches, the In-linelinc Relay uses a hard-contact relay to control the load. Other switches use a semiconductor that absorbs about two volts of power and dissipates the heat through the front of the module. By using a relay, the device runs cooler and full voltage gets to the load.
Scene lighting
Scenes allow you to control multiple lights and appliances, rooms, or even the whole home with a single command. Because the In-linelinc Relay can be a member of more than 400 scenes (i.e. "Movie Time," "Party," "Romance," etc.), you'll be able to launch various lighting scenarios with a single button press. These are elegant features usually found only in systems costing tens of thousands of dollars and requiring extensive rewiring of your home. If you want to control multiple scenes from one controller, we suggest the Keypadlinc V2 Dimmer.
Compatibility
The In-linelinc Relay is fully INSTEON compatible and X10 ready. Homeowners with existing X10 networks can easily migrate to an INSTEON network without having to discard all their existing X10 devices. X10 ready means that the In-linelinc Relay can respond to X10 commands from an X10 controller and it can send X10 commands to X10 devices. Please note that INSTEON devices repeat INSTEON signals but not X10.
Non-Volatile Memory
All In-linelinc Relay settings are stored in non-volatile memory and are not lost during power failures. Additionally, in the event of a power loss, the In-linelinc Relay will return to its last on/off state when power is restored.
Certifications and Warranty
All In-linelinc products are safety approved. The factory for SmartLabs Design Products is ISO 9002 certified. In order to meet the ISO 9002 standards, the entire factory underwent rigorous inspections of procedures and policies before being certified. The certification received was based on its dedication to high-quality management systems and strict adherence of quality control systems and guidelines. Because of this, SmartLabs stands behind the entire In-linelinc line of products with a full 2-year warranty.
Easy To Install
The In-linelinc Relay is easy to install and set up. Use the provided screws to mount in a standard J-box or remove them using the screw tabs to mount in a more compact area such as a ceiling fan fixture box. Screw tabs can be removed using pliers when you are installing into a fixture box with limited space. Control each fan individually or all of your fluorescent lights with a single In-linelinc Relay.
