- Wires in line for lighting circuits without wall switches (e.g. recessed kitchen lights)
- Control individual lights remotely, turning them on and off and adjusting brightness levels
- Easy-to-install dimmer uses INSTEON (patent pending) technology for superior performance and reliability
In-linelinc Dimmer — The Most Advanced Remote-Controllable Inline Dimmer
Fill your entire home with personalized mood lighting for any occasion. The INSTEON-Enabled In-linelinc Dimmer has 32 brightness levels, which makes setting your lights to the perfect intensity very easy. This dimmer can control incandescent bulbs, low-voltage halogen (e.g. track), and other low-voltage lights with magnetic or dimmable electronic transformers. If you need to control a fluorescent light fixture or an appliance, try the INSTEON-Enabled In-linelinc Relay.
How many times have you jumped into bed and forgotten to turn the lights off? With the In-linelinc Dimmer's remote control ability, you can have the convenience of adding a bedside controller to turn off your lights after you get into bed. Never come home to a dark house again: Install Powerlinc V2 Controller and Timer Software on your computer to schedule any In-linelinc Dimmer or any other INSTEON-enabled device to turn on or off at a specific time or even at sunrise and sunset.
Easy To Install
The In-linelinc Dimmer is easy to install and set up. Use the provided screws to mount in a standard J-box or remove them using the screw tabs to mount in a more compact area such as a ceiling light fixture. Screw tabs can be removed using pliers when you are installing into a fixture box with limited space. Control each kitchen light individually or rows of can lights with a single In-linelinc Dimmer. Perfect for Locations without a Switch
Whether you're planning to install Malibu or recessed lighting or have already done so, you don't need to go through the hassle of running the wiring for a new wall switch. By installing an In-linelinc in a fixture box, you'll be able to control the lights from any location in your home. Simply install the In-linelinc in the fixture box, link it manually or via Houselinc Desktop software, and you'll be able to turn lights on and off and dim them using any INSTEON-enabled controller. For maximum personalized control, wire an In-linelinc to each non-switched light for the ultimate in mood settings.
Adjustable Ramp Rate
Adjust the speed at which the controlled light turns on or off, also known as the ramp rate. For example, you may want the light in the stairwell to turn on instantly so you can see where you're walking. Alternatively, you may want the light in the master bathroom to ramp up in a soft, gentle fashion so you're not blinded in the middle of the night. The ramp rate is adjustable between 0.1 second and 9 seconds if programmed locally. The ramp rate can extend up to 9 minutes (for a simulated sunrise or sunset) if programmed remotely. This is a great addition to your morning alarm, slowly turning the light on to help you wake up.
Easy to Program
Programming an In-linelinc can be easily done a couple of different ways. The Tap method is best for your initial setup. Simply go into linking mode on any INSTEON-enabled controller and then press the set button on the In-linelinc for 3 seconds; the load and the status ED will flash. You are now linked and can control the In-linelinc from the controller of your choice. Keep in mind that once installed in a fixture, the In-linelinc will not be easily accessible, thus making new links and scene programming difficult. We recommend using software such as Houselinc Desktop to manage the links of your In-linelinc after it is installed. Remember, you will need to have the INSTEON ID in order to program with software.
Scene lighting
Scenes allow you to control multiple lights, rooms or even the whole home with a single command. Because the In-linelinc Dimmer can be a member of more than 400 scenes (i.e. "Movie Time," "Party," "Romance," etc.), you'll be able to launch various lighting scenarios with a single button press. These are elegant features usually found only in systems costing tens of thousands of dollars and requiring extensive rewiring of your home. All member lights can ramp to your independently desired brightness levels at your chosen ramp rate(s). So one set of lights can dim slowly, while another set turns off instantly, all controlled with one command from one button. If you want to control multiple scenes from one controller, we suggest the Keypadlinc V2 Dimmer.
Compatibility
In-linelinc Dimmer is fully INSTEON compatible and X10 ready. Homeowners with existing X10 networks can easily migrate to an INSTEON network without having to discard all of their existing X10 devices. X10 ready means that it can respond to X10 commands from an X10 controller. Please note that INSTEON devices repeat INSTEON signals but not X10.
Non-Volatile Memory
All In-linelinc Dimmer settings are stored in non-volatile memory and are not lost during power failures. Additionally, in the event of a power loss, the In-linelinc Dimmer will return to its last brightness level when power is restored.
Certifications and Warranty
All In-linelinc Dimmer products are safety approved. The factory for SmartLabs Design Products is ISO9002 certified. In order to meet the ISO9002 standards, the entire factory underwent rigorous inspections of procedures and policies before being certified. The certification received was based on its dedication to high-quality management systems and strict adherence of quality control systems and guidelines. Because of this, SmartLabs stands behind the entire In-linelinc line of products with a full 2-year warranty.
