ICON DIMMER SWITCH (WHITE)

What is ICON?
ICON by Smarthome is our newest line of lighting and appliance control products utilizing INSTEON technology. ICON is our value-oriented line of products and has several of the same features as our regular products without the added cost. ICON is another great addition to Smarthome's INSTEON family of products.

ICON Dimmer Switch — The Economic Full-Featured, Remote-Controllable Dimmer
Make your home the envy of your friends and neighbors with the cool and easy-to-use ICON Dimmer Switch. ICON Dimmer Switches make it extremely affordable to replace every switch in your house with an INSTEON-enabled dimmer switch. Setting up your entire home with customized lighting control is easy. From pressing the paddle directly to dim the lights to having all of your lights turn off with the press of a single button, this dimmer can do it all. The ICON Dimmer Switch has 32 brightness levels, which makes setting your lights to the perfect intensity very easy. This dimmer switch can control incandescent bulbs, low-voltage halogen (e.g. track), and other low-voltage lights with magnetic or dimmable electronic transformers. If you need to control a fluorescent light fixture or a non-dimmable appliance, try the ICON On/Off Switch .

How many times have you jumped into bed and forgotten to turn the lights off? With the ICON dimmer's remote control ability, you can have the convenience of adding a bedside controller to turn off your lights after you get into bed. Never come home to a dark house again: Install HouseLinc Desktop Software on your computer to schedule any ICON Dimmer Switch or any INSTEON-enabled device to turn on or off at any specific time or even at sunrise and sunset. The ICON Dimmer Switch can control up to a 300-watt load. If a larger load is required, try either the 600-watt SwitchLinc V2 Dimmer, or the 1000-watt SwitchLinc V2 Dimmer. Please note that this switch ships with an amber LED; customizable light pipes are not compatible with ICON switches.

Note: As with all wall dimmers, the ICON Dimmer Switch may feel warm during operation. Rigorously tested and approved to UL-standards, the amount of heat generated falls well within approved limits and poses no threat to your home or the lifespan of the device.

Easy To Install
ICON Dimmer Switch is so easy to install and set up and yet so affordable, you'll want to replace all your switches with ICON Dimmer Switches. Just remove the old switch, reattach the existiing line, load, and ground wires with the addition of the neutral wire using the included wire nuts, and you're done. If this is your first INSTEON installation, the best way to ensure you get everything needed to provide the most reliable communication between devices is to buy the complete Dimmer Switch INSTEON Starter Kit, which includes everything required to set up your INSTEON network, including two SwitchLinc V2 Dimmers, a pair of SignaLinc RFs or Access Points to ensure INSTEON network reliability, and the desktop ControLinc.

Quality Construction
Unlike other switches, the ICON Dimmer Switch offers the natural feel of well-built dimmers. You'll love the crisp, tactile response with each touch instead of the mushy feeling of other brands. The amber LED indicates the current on/off status of the lights being controlled. The ICON Dimmer Switch is designed and manufactured to high-end specifications and goes through over 10 quality control tests before arriving at your doorstep. This Decora-style switch will blend with any room's look. A white paddle is preinstalled on each ICON Dimmer Switch, but additional paddle colors are available and sold separately. Choose the color that best suits your room's decor: Almond, Black, Brown, or Grey. Two paddles are included in each color-change set. Don't forget to order a matching wall plate.

Brightness Levels
You can adjust the brightness level of the controlled lamp locally by pressing and holding the top or bottom of the ICON Dimmer Switch. This is especially helpful when you want to create a theatrical experience when watching your favorite movie. You can also adjust the brightness remotely by using a controller that sends signals to brighten or dim the light. Now you won't even have to leave the comfort of your couch to dim the light: Your tabletop ControLinc can be placed within arm's reach and plugged into any outlet. When you turn on the ICON Dimmer Switch, it automatically comes on to full brightness. Setting the preset on level will make the dimmer stop at your preferred choice of 32 brightness levels. This is a great feature for your home theater to improve TV viewing. An amber LED indicates the current status of the light being controlled. When the ICON Dimmer is turned off, the amber LED illuminates to help with finding the switch in the dark.

Create Multi-Way Circuits
The ICON Dimmer Switch allows you to customize your lighting setup no matter how your house is wired. It's simple to create a 3-, 4-, or 5-way circuit. First replace all of the existing switches you want to include in the circuit with ICON Dimmer Switch. The main dimmer must be connected to the standard wires: load, line, neutral, and ground. The secondary dimmers only need to be connected to line, neutral, and ground. No traveler wires are needed, so it is easy to place one of the dimmers wherever you need it. Cross-linking all of the companion dimmers to the master dimmer is the last step in the process for a flexible, fully functional multi-way circuit. Note: anytime the ICON Dimmer Switch are placed direct adjacent to one another, you must subtract 50 watts of capacity from each dimmer. If three dimmers are adjacent to one another, then 100 watts must be subtracted from the capacity of the center dimmer. If more capacity is needed, start out with the higher-rated SwitchLinc V2 Dimmer 600W or the SwitchLinc V2 Dimmer 1000W.

Scene Lighting
Scenes allow you to control multiple lights, rooms or even the whole home with a single command. Because the ICON Dimmer Switch can be a member of 30 scenes (i.e. "Sleep Time," "Movie Time," "Romance," etc.), you'll be able to launch various lighting scenarios with a single button press. These are elegant features usually found only in systems costing tens of thousands of dollars and requiring extensive rewiring of your home. All linked lights can brighten or dim to your independently preset brightness levels. So one set of lights can dim while another set turns off instantly, all controlled with one command from one button. If you want to control multiple scenes for one controller, upgrade to the KeypadLinc V2 Dimmer.

Compatibility
ICON Dimmer Switch is INSTEON compatible and X10 ready. Homeowners with existing X10 networks can easily migrate to an INSTEON network without having to discard all their existing X10 devices. X10 ready means that it can respond to X10 commands from an X10 controller and it can send X10 commands to X10 devices. Please note that INSTEON devices repeat INSTEON signals but not X10. The ICON dimmer is not X10 scene compatible.

Slim Design
Similar dimmers are up to 50 percent deeper than the ICON Dimmer Switch. Thanks to its slim design, it makes installation easy even in small junction boxes.

Static Memory
All ICON Dimmer Switch settings are stored in static memory and are not lost during power failures. Additionally, in the event of a power loss, the ICON Dimmer Switch will return to its last brightness level when power is restored.

Certifications and Warranty
All ICON products are safety approved. The factory for SmartLabs Design Products is ISO9002 certified. In order to meet the ISO 9002 standards, the entire factory underwent rigorous inspections of procedures and policies before being certified. The certification received was based on its dedication to high-quality management systems and strict adherence of quality control systems and guidelines. Because of this, Smarthome stands behind the entire ICON line of products with a full 1-year warranty.
